Mother’s Day is a special day! It is a day that celebrates you surviving pregnancy, those sleepless nights & fun filled days.
Here are some easy, kid friendly crafts to do with your children to commemorate Mother’s Day.
“You are my Sunshine” artwork
You will need:
– Paints – blue, yellow and orange
– Sharpie
– Canvas
– Paintbrush
Directions: Either you or your child can paint the canvas blue & let it dry. Now, paint a yellow/orange circle where you want the sun to be. Paint your child’s hand, yellow on their fingers and upper part of their hands. Paint the lower part of their hand orange. Now place their hand around the circle. When this dries, have your child (or you) write using a sharpie, “You are my Sunshine.” Don’t forget to date it.
Handprint Jar
I love this idea because who doesn’t love flowers.
You will need:
– Paint (any color)
– Paint brush
– Jar
Directions: Let your child paint the jar & let it dry. Now put another color paint on a paper plate, let them dip their hand in the paint. Have them put their handprint on the jar. You can add any additional decorations, maybe raffia, or glitter, or write Mother’s Day and the year. Now, your child can fill the jar with some handpicked flowers.
A handprint stepping stone
One of my favorites. I love looking back and remembering how small their little hands were.
– A stepping stone kit (these can be purchased at Hobby Lobby or Walmart)
– Water
Directions: Follow the kit instructions. And once it has dried, you can use paint or a sharpie to add your child’s name and date.
Wishing you all a wonderful Mother’s Day. Enjoy your day with your children.
And enjoy your homemade keepsakes that you will hold in your heart forever.
